ELEMENTARY
CCA believes character development is just as important and valuable as academics. These two aspects are intertwined in our Elementary School program. These values inspire our teachers…
Our teachers cultivate an environment that fosters love for learning. This happens through modeling. In the classroom, teachers do not merely instruct using best practices, but model behaviors, skills and lessons that they desire the students to learn. These lessons come through hands on projects, inquiry-based reasoning, critical thinking assignments, as well as interactive and collaborative work.
Experiential learning of this kind is very important for elementary age children. Creative and imaginative elements of our curriculum using our technology and Maker Space resources are being integrated as well. Outdoor education and field trips are essential to experiential learning and are highly valued as part of our CCA education.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Our Middle School program provides a multi-faceted educational experience. Faculty instruct the whole student in social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual elements through our academics, extracurricular activities, arts, music, sports, and spiritual enrichment. Our experiential approach to this well-rounded curriculum encompasses hands-on lessons, technology, the arts, outdoor education, and foreign language acquisition. Our focus is teaching middle school students to understand the Christian worldview through inquiry, collaboration, discussion, and engagement in academic subjects.
Our goal is to prepare the middle school students for the rigor of high school. Regardless of their academic level, our teachers and classes equip them to successfully transition. Math and language courses taken continuously throughout our Middle School program prepare our students to be on track or join advanced level classes as they begin high school. These provisions allow them to enter our high school program seamlessly.
Our passionate teachers know that the middle school years are also transitional years. Character development in these years is vital. Teachers develop a close relationship with both student and parent forming a supportive network for the student. Utilizing the middle school students’ enthusiasm, caring spirit, desire for collaboration, and growing independence, teachers apply these traits in an effective and meaningful way to teach responsibility, good habits, compassion, teamwork, self-advocacy, conflict resolution and more.
HIGH SCHOOL
California Crosspoint High School instills life learning in a challenging, individualized, and holistic environment.
Students are challenged to develop and deepen their existing interests as well as venture into new areas. Students are encouraged and supported to reach their full academic potential as well as becoming the person they are in Christ.
Customized class scheduling allows students to develop an individual learning plan to reach their goals. Our high school course catalog is broad and deep, including over 20 Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses, so we can meet the needs of all our students.
While academics encapsulate the core of their learning, we encourage students to be well-rounded. There are many opportunities to lead and participate in clubs that span a wide variety of subjects. Sports teams, Bible study, robotics, fine arts, drama, and our award-winning chorale are some of the avenues available to expand their education beyond the classroom. Field trips, college tours and internship opportunities richly deepen their knowledge with real-life experiences. Students learn how their interests and skills eventually transfer into majors in college, internships during the summer, and skills in the marketplace.
College counseling, which lays the groundwork for each student’s academic program, begins as soon as students enroll and is ongoing. We guide students as they consider colleges, prepare applications, and complete college essays, making sure they don’t miss important deadlines.
