The Baltic International Academy

The Baltic International Academy is one of the largest non-governmental HEIs in the Baltic States, which was founded in 1992.

The Academy is located in the capital of Latvia – Riga - with its unique international environment near the Gulf of Riga and Jurmala. It is an exciting place to live and study for international full-time and exchange students.

Today 1900 students study their main degree programmes in the Baltic International Academy, of whom 400 foreign students from 28 countries. More than 30,000 people graduated from the Academy during its existence.

The Academy implements 24 study programmes in 9 fields of study, incl. 13 study programmes in 6 study directions with English language of instruction, at different levels of education from the College (the 1st level of higher professional education) to the higher doctorates:

• Economics and Finances – BSc*,**, MSc*,** & PhD
• Psychology*,** - BSc & MSc
• Tourism and Hospitality Management – BSc & MSc
• European Studies (International Relations) - BSc & MSc
• Management and Administration – BSc & MSc
• Translation and Interpretation - BSc

All implemented study programmes in the Academy had passed the National accreditation and received positive evaluation by local and international experts.

Our facilities include: scientific library and reading halls, cafes, computer labs, Media-bridge system, a bookshop and a Conference centre “Lomonosov”, Students’ Union, Ceramics and Drawing Studio, art gallery “BiArt”, Rerikh Hall, 6 Cultural and Information Centres: the German Centre, the Nordic Centre, the Economic Representative Office of Malopolska, the Centre "Russian World”, the Information Centre of the European Union, the Latvian Centre.

We offer additionally: individual approach to every our student, flexible system of discounts, opportunity to apply for the Latvian State and European (ERASMUS+ and ERASMUS-Placement) scholarships, Summer and Winter Schools, internships and traineeship programmes, short-term and professional non-degree programmes, scientific and research activities, International Foundation Programmes, Inter-University and exchange programmes, as well as guidance and advice on immigration, Academy life and studies, integration and extended services in our Visa and Student Support Centres.

* These study programmes will be Academic and will lead to Academic degrees with the duration of studies within 3 years from 1 September 2020 after the national re-accreditation based on the Latvian legislation.

**The admission of applicants at these study programmes with English language of instructions will be available after the national re-accreditation of these study directions.
