The agriculture academy provides students an opportunity to explore various sectors of the agriculture field. This program is for students interested in completing their Associates of Applied Science or in transferring. Academy available at Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges.It's a fact, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) is the first choice of area high school graduates, whether pursuing a four-year bachelor's degree or a career education. In addition, hundreds of people who have been out of high school for a while come to us every year to pursue a new career.

Careers in Agriculture
There’s plenty to choose from when it comes to agriculture-related programs at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. Many of the students in our ag-related programs do not come from an ag background. They chose one of these programs simply because they love working with their hands and enjoy the great outdoors.

  • Agribusiness Management    
    Learn about the human capital and technical sector of American agriculture and graduate prepared to enter retail agricultural and ag supply businesses with this two-year degree.
     
  • Farm Management    
    Learn what it takes to operate a successful farming business through classroom training and real-world work experiences.
     
  •  Agribusiness  Equipment Technician     
    Develop the skills needed to work in the high-demand agriculture equipment field.
     
  • Agriculture Systems Technology    
    Using practical knowledge and skill, in this career you’ll analyze, develop, build and troubleshoot systems related to agricultural equipment, water quality, biofuels, livestock facilities and more.
     
  • Veterinary Technician 
    Learn how to provide nursing care for companion animals and livestock, including assisting in laboratory and clinical procedures.
     
  • Agribusiness-Precision Ag    
    Precision Ag is a management strategy that gathers, processes and analyzes data, combining it with other information to support management decisions that help improve efficiency, productivity, quality, profitability and sustainability of ag production.
     
  • Tuf and Landscape Management     
    Prepare yourself to enter professional careers like golf and sport turf management, landscape design, landscape installation, grounds maintenance, lawn care, garden center management and other green industry related careers.
     
  • Conservation 
    EICC’s Conservation Program provides a solid foundation with classes in areas such as environmental science, fisheries and wildlife ecology, and local flora.

Library

Library Services include help finding information for papers and presentations, computers with Microsoft Office, printing, and print/electronic books, magazines, and videos.

Tutoring
Online tutoring is also available to all EICC students through Smarthinking. Each student has a total of 15 hours of tutoring services for the academic year (August through July), regardless of how many courses the student is taking.
