Ural State Mining University (UGGU) is the oldest university in Yekaterinburg and the Urals, founded in 1914 as a Mining institute.
In 2014, the 100th anniversary of the University was celebrated, during which time more than 50 thousand mining engineers, hundreds of PS with her and candidates of science were trained. 2.5-3 thousand managers and specialists annually undergo retraining and advanced training in 25 specialties.
According to the rating of the "Coordination and Analytical Center for the Promotion of employment of graduates of Vocational education Institutions" (KCST) at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Center for Employment Promotion of the Mining University took the honorable 3rd place (together with the RSPU) in the rating of university centers, beating the Ural State Forestry University (4th place) and the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin (5th place) in the Sverdlovsk region. 754 Russian universities from the 79th subject of the Russian Federation participated in the rating.
