Financial Aid & Scholarships
Merit Scholarships
Drew is quite generous with financial aid and provides over $35 million to its students in financial aid each year. Both domestic and international students can qualify for merit-based scholarships, which are based on previous academic achievement. These scholarships do not require any additional application so students are automatically considered at the point of admission.
In addition to these merit scholarships, first-year students may also apply for Drew Action Scholars and the Drew Scholarship for the Arts. Drew Action Scholars is for students committed to community, innovation and global impact in a connected world. The Drew Scholarship for the Arts is for students who excel in the arts and plan to be an active member of the art community at Drew.
Need-Based Financial Assistance
In addition to merit aid, US citizens who file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are also considered for need-based financial assistance. Limited need-based funds are also available to international students who submit the International Student Financial Aid Application.
Campus life
Our campus, called The Forest, is a ten-minute walk from the Madison train station, which takes you directly to Midtown Manhattan in under an hour. Our location allows you to experience the excitement and opportunities of New York City without living in the middle of it 24/7 (yet).
Our hometown of Madison and nearby Morristown are fun, with Food Network-famous cafes, cute shops and a music scene. Also, located within a one-hour radius are a wildlife refuge, the Jersey Shore, the Meadowlands (where the NY Giants and Jets play) and the world-class museums, concert venues, sports arenas, clubs, galleries, theaters, architecture, etc., of New York City.
True Drew Community Traditions
Since our founding 150 years ago, we grew from one school to three, from 12 students to 2,200 and from one building to 46. Throughout, we established and grew a powerful community by honoring our old traditions and creating new ones that link our students, faculty, staff and alums on campus and cross the globe.
The Forest Awakens!
Get in the game, stay active and live a healthy lifestyle with Drew Athletics and Recreation.
Drew is the home of the Rangers and 20 NCAA Division III varsity sports. Student-athletes at Drew are renowned for their dual passion for their sport and their academic careers. Typically making up one-quarter of the student body, Rangers have boasted championship titles, scholarly awards and real-world experience during their careers in The Forest. When offered academic freedom, the ability to compete and deep resources to land internships and jobs, Rangers say, “I’ll have one of each, please.”
You don’t have to wear a uniform to reap the benefits of Drew’s Athletics and Recreation department. Campus Recreation’s programs are designed to meet the needs of the whole community, including all students, staff and faculty. Programs provide opportunities for the worthwhile use of leisure time and maintenance of high-level health and wellness. Activities are held in the Simon Forum and associated outdoor facilities.
