The University of Saint Cyril and Methodius

The University of Saint Cyril and Methodius (further only UCM) in Trnava is located in western Slovakia, very close to Bratislava. It is a modern educational institution established in 1997 offering programs in the sphere of philosophy, arts, and media, as well as in natural sciences, biotechnology, informatics, chemistry, but in the sphere of psychology, pedagogy, history, ethnology, political science and Slovak language, Russian language, English language, German language (totally over 130 study programs).  The university is offering English in the English language and it part of international consortiums of Universities as well as of Erasmus network. 

Faculties of the University of Saint Cyril and Methodius

There are the following faculties under UCM: 

• Faculty of Arts
• Faculty of Mass Media Communication
• Faculty of Natural Sciences
• Faculty of Social Sciences
• Institute of Physiotherapy, Balneology and Med. Rehabilitation
• Institute of Civil Society

Faculties are also running intensive preparatory courses in the Slovak language for applicants who would like to study in Slovak (which is free of charge). Studies in English language are also possible for moderate tuition fees. There are over 130 accredited programs at Bachelor, Master and Phd. level in Trnava. 

About the city of Trnava

The city of Trnava is located only 50km from Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. it was the first privileged royal town in Slovakia and is called also
“little Rome” thanks to attractive surroundings, beautiful churches and attractive historical and religious sites.  Trnava is “University City” as there are three universities full of students. Lots of coffee bars, restaurants, dance and music clubs, pubs make study living in the city very convenient and student-friendly. Trnava also hosts a wide range of cultural activities, festivals, and parties.
