Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (hereinafter referred to as “STU”) is a modern educational and scientific institution which was founded in 1937. The University is located in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Currently, there are 7 faculties, that form Slovak Technical University and are located in Bratislava and Trnava. There are multiple study programs offered in English levels at 3 different levels: Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral level.
University is involved in European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) which makes attained study results more comparable and students eligible for transfer. In addition to that, University is involved in various research activities with many universities around the world. Thanks to this fact, theory is balanced with praxis and offer graduates of STU great perspectives of employability after graduation.
STU offers education in foreign languages, primarily in the following fields of study: civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry and food technology and architecture.
Since its foundation in the year 1937 more than 145.000 students have graduated. In average, 17.000 students study at the STU every year.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) was founded in 1938 as the first faculty of the Slovak University of Technology (STU). Faculty is involved in international collaboration on many levels: cooperation with more than 60 universities and organizations around the world, involvement of university in multilateral research programs with special emphasis on EU projects and active participation in existing programs of international co-operation, such as TEMPUS, LEONARDO, SOCRATES and CEEPUS.
The Faculty is an active member of the International Association of Civil Engineering Faculties (IACEF) and a guest member at the Permanent Conference of the German-Speaking Countries’ Civil Engineering Faculties.
There have been more than 31,000 graduates and 1250 Ph.D. students since establishment of institution. The Faculty of Civil Engineering is now the second largest engineering faculty at the University and employs 480 employees (42 professors, 68 associate professors, 163 teaching assistants and 49 research assistants). Shaped by a number of outstanding personalities in science and technology, the Faculty has become a leader in research and education in the fields of civil engineering and geodesy in Slovakia. There are around 100 international students at FCE currently studying in one of its international programs. No entrance examination is required.
