About North Seattle College

Established in 1970, North Seattle College provides learning opportunities for a diverse group of more than 14,000 students each year. North is the starting point for many students who transfer to top universities across the country. Strong academic preparation and advising services, small classes, an innovative integrated studies program, broad e-learning options and a variety of partnerships with four-year schools contribute to student success. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees -  Accounting with an International focus, Application Development, Early Childhood Education, International Business, and Residential & Commercial Property Management- and all-in-the-evening Associate of Arts and Associate in Business degree programs. The Seattle Colleges are working on developing a new Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, which will be administered by NSC.

Essential Learning Outcomes 

North Seattle College serves a diverse student population with a wide variety of educational backgrounds and goals. As a learning community, we foster and promote the following outcomes:

Inquiry based on information accessed through ethical research

Problem Solving using critical and creative thinking, quantitative and qualitative reasoning, information literacy, and disciplinary and cross-disciplinary knowledge.

Communication in oral, written, and artistic modes of expression, individually and in collaboration with others

Responsibility for understanding and integrating intercultural competence, practicing ethical reasoning and conduct, applying sustainability principles, and demonstrating respect for self and others.

• 6 transfer degrees – 3rd in the state for a number of transfer students accepted into UW.
• 34 associate of applied sciense degrees and over 40 professional certificateswithin 33 different programs.
