Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (kaz. Әл-Фараби атындағы Қазақ ұлттық университеті) is a leading multidisciplinary higher education institution in Kazakhstan.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is the leading institution of the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first to pass the state certification and confirm the right to carry out educational activities in all specialties and levels.

KazNU named after al-Farabi is the leader of the General Rating of universities in Kazakhstan, the first in the history of the country winner of the President's award "For Achievements in the field of quality", winner of the Commonwealth of Independent States Award for achievements in the field of quality of products and services.

The University, being a member of the International Association of Universities and a co-founder of the Eurasian Association of Universities, was the first among the universities of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries to sign the Great Charter of Universities in Bologna, successfully passed the international certification for compliance of the quality management system (QMS) with the requirements of international standards ISO 9000:2000 and received certificates from the world's largest certification centers – the International Certification System IQNET.
