Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, National Technical University, founded in 1885, is the first technical university in Ukraine. Over its 130-year history, the University has become an integral part of the scientific, technical, intellectual and cultural history of Ukraine. Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute National Technical University has a high reputation in the field of education and research, NTU diploma "XPI" has a high rating and is recognized all over the world. According to the TOP-200 ranking, the university ranks 4th among Ukrainian universities, and according to the QS World University Rankings, the university is in the top 1000.

A wide range of study programs (over 100 specialties) and a high level of education lead to an increase in the number of school graduates. Currently, the institute has more than 20,000 students and 1,500 foreigners from 40 countries.
