(together with The Robert Gordon University) has designed one of the fastest track BA Degrees in Switzerland without compromising its educational quality. At B.H.M.S., students can achieve a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management in 18 months of study plus an 18-month paid internship period. A similar education in another Swiss hotel management school would require 24 months of study plus a 12 month internship period. This gives B.H.M.S. graduates an advantage of studying 6 months less while gaining 6 additional months of paid work experience in Switzerland.
3. Unique 5-Week Term System - B.H.M.S. has implemented a unique system of education by dividing a 20-week semester into four mini-terms of 5 weeks each. This system enables students to focus on only 3 to 4 academic subjects at a time instead of the usual 8-10 subjects as in other Swiss hotel schools. As a result, B.H.M.S. students are able to complete 12-14 academic subjects within a 6 month period without overload.

Guaranteed Internship and Graduate Placement

Industry training is an integral part of the study program at B.H.M.S.. During every academic year, students are required to carry out a 4-6 month industry training period in a hotel or a restaurant approved by BHMS. In addition, BHMS works with numerous international placement agencies that specialize in placing graduate students in Europe, Asia, and North America. A Career and Placement Counselor assists students with placements in hotels and restaurants in Switzerland and abroad.

If you want to experience life at a Swiss Hotel School before applying for a longer program you can take BHMS two weeks summer course. The price for the summer course is 2950 CHF including food and accommodation. Should a student chose to enroll in any of BHMS academic programs within two years after taking the summer program, he/she will be entitled for a CHF3,000 fee reimbursement should he/she enrolls to a minimum of two‐year academic program or CHF1,500 fee reimbursement if he/she enrolls to a one‐year academic program.

Bachelor’s program

• Culinary Management

Over the course of 2 years, students acquire all the fundamental skills necessary to work in the world's finest dining establishments in one of the fastest growing industries.

Diploma in Culinary Management:

• This 6-12 month Diploma in Culinary Management program introduces students to the world of food production through basic operation techniques and hands-on core competency training. It introduces students to the basic cooking methods, kitchen equipment, machinery and utensils, as well as recipe costing and kitchen procedures. Students will also learn how to use food ingredients, develop their skills in utilizing kitchen equipment and utensils, learn how to prepare basic stocks, soups, sauces and salads and become familiar with kitchen terminology, nutrition and kitchen accounting principles. After successfully completing 6-months of diploma studies, students qualify for 4-6 month of paid internship in one of many renowned Swiss dining establishments.

Student Services

Student Services at BHMS aim to enrich the overall student experience. Student services offer counseling, personal development, pastoral care, mediation, and a great variety of indoor and outdoor recreation.

Each of the activities offered caters to the students' active and competitive drive for group and individual sports, outdoor adventure, creativity, or artistic needs.

In doing so, BHMS strives to provide students with an assortment of festivities to balance students' academic life while relieving stress, promoting emotional and physical health, and encouraging communication and interaction among the various nationalities present.

Housing Services

The BHMS Student Residence building offers accommodation with a kitchen, restaurant, library, computer lab and student lounge. Students are hosted in modern rooms equipped with en-suite showers and a kitchenette as well as WLAN.

Single rooms and studios are available at an additional charge. Students residing at BHMS are entitled to three meals a day during the week, and brunch and dinner service during the weekend and holidays. For vegetarians and those who do not eat pork or beef, special dishes are provided at no extra charge.

ICT Services

Both residence and campus buildings are LAN and WLAN equipped. For students without laptops, BHMS provides computer facilities to enable students to complete their study assignments in addition to staying connected with their families and friends.
