United Kingdom

Their aim is to improve their students’ English by increasing their confidence and communication skills. Their lessons include plenty of opportunities for students to use language and build their knowledge and confidence in English. This is further enforced outside the classrooms during activities, cultural visits and specialist sports courses.

Academic Year Programme

Ardmore are delighted to offer students the opportunity to study within one of the best school systems in the world. This programme offers an academic year at a British state school – at a choice of locations throughout the UK.

This programme provides an affordable alternative to studying at an independent UK school. Many academic year students use their stay in Britain as a “springboard” to their future educational and career aspirations – i.e. studying at a UK or International University where fluent English is a requirement, or with a view to being able to work anywhere in the world where they need an advanced level and understanding of English.

• Students must be from European Economic Area (EEA)
• Students will normally need at least an intermediate level of English (e.g. of IELTS 5.5 or similar in order to participate fully in lessons and gain the maximum benefit from this experience.
• Minimum age is 11 years and maximum age is 18 years.
• Academic year starts in September and ends in late July.
• All students are required to complete a detailed application form – with educational, medical, family and personal history, as well as academic achievements. A school is then selected by Ardmore, according to the students’ requirements.

Full School Integration in UK and the USA

This programme is perfect for students who want to live the life of a British or American teenager for a short period. For group leaders and parents, this is an ideal opportunity for students to improve their English and understand the UK state or THEM public school systems.

Students will “buddy” up with teenagers and follow exactly the same curriculum for the whole school day, for a period of 1 – 7 weeks. They will participate in classes with other students, follow all the lessons in English as well as enjoying the opportunity to chat with them in a more relaxed setting at lunchtime. Group leaders accompanying the students are welcome to stay at school.

Why not book a Full School Integration Programme just before your group takes part in an Ardmore Summer / Easter course? It’s a great way to encourage language learning and give students added confidence before they start their course! Why not consider a London Sightseeing programme during half term?

The programme covers accommodation with carefully selected host families located close to the school. They have numerous locations where they can o er this programme and they will advise you of the possible availability for the dates you have chosen. Students will be fully immersed in either the British or American way of life, enjoying a truly memorable learning experience.

Their range of Specialist Courses

Adventure Programme

The specialised adventure activities offered at this centre, place great emphasis on confidence building and improving conversational English Language skills whilst making friends at the same time. The courses are designed to promote leadership and teamwork skills, combining fun and personal development in a safe, supportive environment.

Basketball Academy

Each session will be designed to work on the fundamentals of basketball, with sessions including shooting, ball handling and team play. Students will have the chance to play in mini leagues and competitions throughout the week.

All sessions are delivered in a way that ensures that all children enjoy high activity sessions and that the drills are flexible and catered for different standards of play. Closed drills i.e. technical work is only used if certain players need extra attention to get them up to the standard of the rest of the group.

As well as immersion into this fast paced sport, students will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the English Language. The basketball briefings and coaching are conducted in English and the students enjoy the benefits of 15 hours of classroom English lessons per week.

Dance and Drama Academy

Students attending the Academy will be fully immersed in all aspects of the Performing Arts. The programme for summer 2019 has a brand new curriculum which their dance instructors will follow over a two week course. Experience and feedback from previous courses has enabled them to create both a fun and enjoyable programme which includes improving communication in English.

Each of the sessions have the same core elements which help students improve key skills such as confidence, flexibility, range of motion, coordination and much more. In addition to this students learn a dance routine for a song chosen by them, and bringing their own imagination to their group, create a show for the final day of the course.

Football Academy

The Ardmore Football Academy, designed by Football Professionals, has been carefully planned to ensure the correct balance of intense training, education and recreation. Football coaching and briefing sessions will be conducted by qualified football coaches.

The coaching sessions are interspersed with practice matches, technical tests and daily briefings to complete an all round fully interactive course. The programme will include:

• Dribbling and dummies

Golf Academy

The Ardmore Golf Academy offers golf loving students the opportunity to have professional coaching in English. Special emphasis is placed on techniques and skills. They have fantastic facilities at their specialist golf centres.

Coaching will include:

• Game Play & Tactics

These coaching sessions are interspersed with practice matches, technical tests and daily briefings to complete an all-round full interactive course.

Horse Riding Academy

Students attending the Academy will be fully immersed in all things equestrian. The Academy includes both Horse Riding and Horse Care as part of each session.

Boys and girls on each course will be assessed on their skill and confidence and the horses they ride will be selected for them based on this information. Trained veterinarians will be on hand to take care of the horses’ medical needs but students will be instructed on the general care of horses on each course. Students will be involved in learning how to use, clean and maintain tack, a fundamentally important part of equestrianism.

Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy includes exciting field trips, interactive workshops, simulations, case studies, presentations and speeches from guest speakers.

The course offers a truly cross-cultural opportunity for young learners to improve their key skills during those all important formative years. Participation in the Academy affords future young leaders an unparalleled chance to build confidence in key areas such as problem solving, public speaking, idea sharing and their own personal development.

Merlin Ultimate Student Adventure

Ardmore’s Merlin Ultimate Student Adventure offers an amazing opportunity for international students with a keen interest in amusement parks.

This is the perfect programme for those who want to combine their English Language Course with an unique excursion schedule. Based at Ardmore’s language centre near Windsor, they aim to provide a fun, exciting experience in a safe environment for each participant.

Oxbridge Tour

The students taking part to the Oxbridge Tour will have the unique opportunity to study in the world-famous university towns, spending one week in each centre.

Ardmore students will have the chance to explore both the university cities and attend themed activities.

Rugby Academy

The coaching delivered by a professional coaches will focus on all aspects of the game and may include tackling, taking the ball into contact, ball handling skills, performing skills under pressure. The coaching methods will depend on the age of the students.

The sessions will be given in English and will include key vocabulary for the game.

Super London Discovery

Choice of four fantastic centres with an intensive excursion programme allowing students to travel into London to visit some of the most famous sights.

This course is the perfect way to combine English language learning with an educational and cultural tour of London.

Tennis Academy

All sessions are based on assessment of players abilities and are aimed at challenging their skills through a combination of tactical, court awareness and competitive drills.

Each three hour session will have a different theme and will be always finished with 1 hour of match play to give players the opportunity to practice what they have been taught.

TV Academy

If students have a passion for entertaining, then this is definitely the course for them. Hosted at world-famous Pinewood Studios, home to the Star Wars and James Bond movies, students will benefit from the expertise of top media coaches.

Students will choose a topic they wish to talk about: their life at home, their family, their hobbies or an interesting fact. The media coaches will teach the participants how to put scripts together and how to perfect their camera communication. Part of the course will be spent creating and editing footage to make a personal show reel that students can share with friends and family.

Volunteer Programme

These volunteer experience sessions will include outdoor activities such as park or beach maintenance, as well as work in charity service industries such as shops, cafés etc.

Ardmore Language Schools are now offering students the chance to combine their English language course with the opportunity to undertake some volunteer experience here in the UK.

International Winter Programme

Set in its own estate with acres of beautiful surroundings, extensive playing fields, landscaped gardens and wildlife. It is one of England’s leading agricultural colleges.

Buildings date back to the 18th century. The mansion house creates a historic and beautiful setting for students to spend their language course while the lively town of Maidenhead lies on 6km away.

Ivy League Programme

Students will stay at Boston University, a perfect hub for reaching several other Ivy League schools in the area. Boston is also one of the oldest and most historic cities in the United States, making it a great setting for the Ivy League Tour, with Harvard University just across the river.

STEM Programme

Ardmore is delighted to introduce the STEM Academy. Students will have the opportunity to explore the four elements of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), develop their vocabulary, while enhancing their understanding of each element.

East Coast Split Stay

The programme combines two of the USA’s most lively and exciting destinations with an excursion packed English learning experience.

Business Insight Programme

In this Business Insight program, students will be introduced to the elements of business English that will help prepare them for the modern business world. Students will learn how to write a CV, search and apply for jobs, and ask and answer interview questions.

This course is for students aged 14-19 who are thinking about pursuing an international education or career abroad. This program will give students a start on their international business ambitions.
