Here in Denia, we have a 20 km long coastline and the “Montgó” Nature Reserve: a mountainous massif that dives into the Mediterranean, where you can explore hiking routes.

Immerse yourself in the activities organized by the Spanish school 

TLCdénia arranges weekly activities for students to enable them to practice Spanish outside the classroom. These include –  thematic workshops on the language, Spanish food tasting, salsa, yoga and cooking classes, plus cultural tours, excursions and much more! Our teachers will explain the activities and how to book them. Be sure not to miss them!

Take part in the organized activities around the city

In Denia you can sign up for guided tours, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, sports activities, shows (concerts, plays) and local festivities. The more you take part in the social life of the city, the more you will learn the language.

Use any opportunity to talk to native speakers 

Speak in Spanish as much as you can, even if you make mistakes, trying is part of the process! Try not to use English, unless it is strictly necessary. For example, put your Spanish to constant use in all situations – in shops, bars, to ask for directions, at the pharmacy… If you don´t know how to say something, prepare the conversation in advance and go for it! Try your best at all times!

Shop Local, Buy local 

Shop in local markets, street markets and small stores. You will receive a more personal service and get extra practise. In these places the connection is much more personal than in superstores, such as shopping centers or supermarkets. This way, you will be also contributing to local businesses.

Enjoy your hobbies in Spanish

Sign up for activities that you like – salsa classes, gym, painting or photography courses. By doing these activities you will meet native speakers. If you are into physical activity, the variety of sports on offer in Denia is huge. There are cycling and golf clubs, you can practice hiking, tennis and even aquatic sports at the sailing club.

ABOUT TLCDÉNIA :

TLCdénia is a family-run boutique school located in Denia, at the heart of the region of Valencia, between Valencia and Alicante and less than 100 km from both international airports.

Its privileged location, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Montgó Natural Park, the excellent climate, with an average of 18º C, and its famous gastronomy recognized worldwide by UNESCO, makes Denia a unique place.

TLCdénia was founded by Mari Carmen Timor who started teaching English lessons in 1984 in a small language school in Pedreguer, 12 km from Denia. 10 years later, in 1994,  she decided to start her business in her home town, Denia.

TLCdénia started teaching different languages: English, French, Spanish and German, in addition to training for companies, and little by little it developed in the local language sector. Around 2000  the demand for Spanish courses from foreign students started to rise among residents and tourists and this is when TLCdénia started focussing its teaching on Spanish.

As a result of the success of the Spanish courses, TLCdénia decided to become  formally recognised in this field and prepared to meet the requirements needed to get a certificate as an accredited centre by ‘Instituto Cevantes’ in 2004. This is an international accreditation which guaranties the quality of the courses and the services, and the high competence of the teaching staff, providing the students with the confidence and security that they will need to achieve their learning aims.

 We are also a formal  examination centre and we prepare students for Diplomas DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) and SIELE, official exams in Spanish.
