Westonbirt School is a co-ed independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 18 years, located in the Cotswolds, 90 minutes from London. At Westonbirt you will find an inspired community, set within 210 acres of parkland grounds and a breathtaking mansion.

Nursery

Children can start their Westonbirt journey in the nursery from 2 years old. Nursery is a fundamental part of the Westonbirt community and follows the same values as the rest of the school with the matching aims of creating inspiring opportunities for learning and experiencing a joyous childhood.

Prep School

Westonbirt Prep offers co-ed learning from 2 to 11 years. Immersed in a culture that promotes a love of learning, children are encouraged to be curious, creative and courageous. Set within 210 acres of parkland grounds, pupils benefit from an abundance of outdoor space and the specialist teaching and facilities of a much larger school.

Senior School

Westonbirt School is a coeducational independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 years. A greenhouse, not a hothouse, success is celebrated and development is nourished. 90% of students achieve their first-choice university and the school is placed in the top 5% for value added.

Sixth Form

Westonbirt offers a wide range of subjects and qualifications in the Sixth Form, including A levels, BTECs, Leiths, EPQ and more. Students can tailor a bespoke programme of study to their individual skills and aspirations. Class sizes are small and students are supported to achieve their very best academically

Boarding at Westonbirt

Westonbirt enjoys a rich boarding heritage and vibrant boarding community that benefits day students and boarders alike. Full, flexi and weekly boarding is available. Following the successful launch of boys’ boarding in 2021 and growth within our boarding community, we are offering additional boarding houses for girls and boys from September 2022, along with a newly refurbished off-site Year 13 Boarding House.

Boarders enjoy a full programme of evening and weekend activities and access to our fully equipped fitness suite, swimming pool and 9-hole golf course.

Westonbirt Leisure Centre

Westonbirt School Leisure Centre boasts a 25-meter swimming pool, sports hall, fitness suite and 9-hole golf course. The Sports Hall can be hired out for a variety of sports.

Swimming Academy

Westonbirt Swimming Academy is a Swim England accredited provider of swimming lessons located within Westonbirt Leisure Centre, offering group and private lessons to children and adults.

Senior Sport

With excellent sports facilities, Westonbirt enjoys an enviable reputation for producing highly successful individual and team performances in a wide variety of sports, often punching above its weight against much larger schools.

Competitive Sports

The school’s major competitive sports are rugby, lacrosse, netball, swimming, tennis, athletics and cricket. In addition, the school boasts an impressive equestrian team.

Fixtures are played throughout the academic year against other independent and local schools and many students compete at county, regional, national and international level.

Football and basketball are also offered as co-curricular options, along with many other sports. A range of Physical Education activities are also offered through the curriculum with GCSE PE and BTEC Sports.

Sports Facilities

The school’s 210 acres of parkland grounds provide the perfect platform for sporting excellence with a nine-hole golf course, lacrosse, hockey, cricket, football and rugby pitches and tennis and netball courts.

The Leisure Centre boast an indoor 25m pool and full fitness suite, and we are excited that an Astro Turf is coming soon!
