Siberian State Industrial University

Siberian State Industrial University is a technical higher education institution located in Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo region.

It was established on June 23, 1930 by the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Executive Committee of the USSR on the basis of the specialty "Ferrous Metallurgy" of the Tomsk Technological Institute for the training of professional personnel for the Kuznetsk Metallurgical Plant under construction.

The official name of the organization is currently the federal State budgetary educational institution of Higher Education "Siberian State Industrial University", which the educational organization received in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 477 of April 25, 2016. Abbreviated names: Siberian State Industrial University, SibGIU.
