Founded in 1953, International House is a global network of 150 affiliated language schools in more than 50 countries. All IH schools are independently owned and managed and are members of IH because they are committed to the very highest standards in language education face-to-face and online.Schools in the network teach English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and a wide variety of other languages. Across our membership network, IH schools train about half of all CELTA graduates in the world. We have well over 200,000 students, and our member schools employ in excess of 5,800 teachers.

For affiliate schools, we arrange a number of annual conferences, offer recruitment services and list vacancies on our Jobs website, and organise events for Study Abroad schools.

We also develop and offer a suite of online teacher training courses for teachers who want to invest in their continued professional development or specialise in a particular area of interest.

International House schools have been training teachers for over 55 years, and our name is widely respected in the field of language teaching.

All tutors teaching IH courses are experienced, highly qualified, and are regulated as part of the IH Inspections process. As a result, those who have trained with IH are sought after by employers.

From your initial teacher training to continued professional development as your career progresses, you can choose to study through our online courses or at one of our teacher training centres in locations around the world.

Schools in the IH network train about of half of all the CELTA graduates in the world every year, train teachers who want to teach German, Spanish, Italian and Arabic, and provide continuing professional development in a wide range of topics from young learner to academic management.

Free IH Study Weeks

IH Partner Agents can apply for free study weeks. The number of free weeks depends on the quantity of business you had with IH in 2021.

How to apply for the free weeks:

• Step 1: Fill in the online application form specifying the student weeks which you paid for in IH schools in 2021.

• Step 2:  We will confirm with schools that this is correct. Please be patient this might take up to 4 weeks.

• Step 3: We will confirm how many free weeks you are eligible for and then invite you to contact schools where you can use them in 2021.  (It has to be a school you have not worked with before).

• Step 4: Make the arrangements directly with the schools of your interest and agree on when the free study weeks will take place in 2021.
