Bede's Summer School

Bede's Summer School  welcomes over 1,500 students from 6-20 years old from many different countries and offers a range of fully inclusive academic and holiday residential summer programmes at 6 beautiful boarding school and university locations in South East England in July and August. Bede's aims to provide an amazing and unforgettable linguistic, social and cultural experience to every single one of its students.

Our range of different courses include English + multi-sports, intensive English, outdoor learning, professional football, Coding & Robotics, Dance, task-based projects to improve 21st Century Skills and university subjects.

Some courses use CLIL methodology, teaching English through a range of subjects such as science and technology, expanding students’ knowledge of the world at the same time as improving their language skills.

Intensive examination courses are available (Cambridge B1 Preliminary, B2 First and C1 Advanced, Trinity GESE, Trinity Stars and IELTS) for those students who wish to leave Bede’s with a recognised qualification.

Optional Academies offer professional tuition in a wide range of sports, leisure pursuits, creative activities and academic subjects and are designed to increase students’ skills, technique and knowledge.

Bede's Summer School is accredited by the British Council (last inspection August 2022) and is a proud member of Quality English and English Uk . Bede’s is also named a Centre of Excellence by the EL Gazette (since 2013).

Academies offer professional tuition in a range of sports, leisure pursuits, creative activities and academic subjects and are designed to increase students' knowledge, skills and technique.

Academies, which are optional and take place in the afternoon instead of regular sports and activities, enable students to customise their course and provide the opportunity for them to continue learning outside the classroom in small, supervised groups.

Academies bring many benefits: some stimulate students' creativity, others expand their capacity for reflection and others help students to develop their critical thinking skills. Some academies raise students' fitness levels and physical agility, while others help them to improve their self-confidence by challenging them to step outside of their comfort zone.

Every academy, whether it be a sport, creative activity, leisure pursuit or academic subject, will help students to develop their commuication skills, confidence in speaking and fluency.

Academies are available for all levels: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. Beginners will start with the basics while more advanced students will perfect their technique and skills.
