Monte Vista Christian school

The ARC (Academic Research Center) provides the atmosphere for discovery and learning with fully-equipped chemistry and biology laboratories. The administration/classroom buildings contain classrooms, offices, and associated support facilities. The gymnasium complex of two gymnasiums, large weight/exercise facility, pool, and spa are used for interscholastic athletics and physical education. Many other buildings provide the setting for the educational endeavors of Monte Vista Christian School.

Meals are served in the attractively decorated Cafe. Other specialized buildings include a middle school complex, an art laboratory, a tack room and horse barns adjacent to the Western and English horse arenas, a music building, and two residence halls for the boarding students.

The campus has a safe country atmosphere which encourages contemplation, study and proper physical development away from the congestion and distractions of urban life.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Monterey Bay area of California, the spacious and picturesque campus nestles in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

It is more than getting a grade. We stir and nurture the hearts and minds of each student with meaningful and life-giving learning experiences.At MVC, we believe God has wired us to be curious learners. But learning is so much more than just the acquisition of knowledge. It’s nurturing our God-given curiosity and developing critical thinking skills. It’s the ability to apply knowledge to solve real problems and to turn knowledge into wisdom. It’s honing the ability to discern truth from error.Through a diverse array of rigorous, college preparatory courses (including honors and AP courses), our dedicated faculty foster dynamic learning environments within small classes. Learners are prepared to meet the entrance requirements of the University of California. Our graduates apply to and are accepted by the most selective colleges and universities. Perhaps most importantly, they are prepared to learn, love, and lead well.

Student service

• MVC’s Student Services has six full-time staff who work with students beginning in 6th grade to put them on the path to success after high school.
• Over the last five years, MVC graduates have attended 40 of the top 50 ranked universities in the US.
• MVC will soon become an International Baccalaureate World School, creating life-long learners and critical thinkers in an increasingly globalized, changing world.

TRANSPORTATION 

Monte Vista Christian school buses travel hundreds of miles bringing students from four different counties to campus each school day.

With a commitment to safety and service, MVC buses travel hundreds of miles throughout four counties bringing students to and from campus each school day. Nine bus routes serve families in Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister, San Juan Bautista, Prunedale, Salinas, Monterey, Marina, Aromas, Aptos, Santa Cruz, and Scotts Valley. Our fleet also takes students on field trips and transports our athletics teams to away games.

Alumni 

MVC alumni are valued members of our school family, regardless of whether they graduated last May or are heading back to campus to for their 50-year reunion. Our goal is to stay in touch over the long haul - to celebrate marriages and births, to applaud professional and educational accomplishments, and to pay tribute to the vibrant heritage we share as Mustangs.

MVC Worldwide

At MVC, we love taking learning and service on the road. Each year there are opportunities for learners and parent chaperones to travel on both domestic and international excursions. With either educational or missional purposes, these trips broaden worldviews, expand cultural understanding, and grow hearts of compassion. Trips are led by MVC teachers in partnership with trusted travel coordination companies. Recent destinations have included England, the Galapagos Islands, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Spain, and Washington, D.C.
