State University named after Tekirdag Namik Kemal was founded on March 17, 2006 in Tekirdag province, Turkey. Tekirdag province is located in the northern part of the Republic of Turkey, Istanbul, Kocaeli province, Yalova province and can be reached through the Sea of Marmara and Edirne province in the western part. In the north is the province of Kirklareli. From the south, the city of Bursa, the province of Balikesir and the province of Canakkale pass through the Sea of Marmara. One and a half hour drive from Tekirdag province to Istanbul.

The classrooms of the university are equipped with projectors and computers. The university has an internet cafe, a swimming pool, a football and basketball field, round-the-clock internet (wifi), a laboratory, and lounges.
