About
The University of Surrey was established on 9 September 1966 with the grant of its Royal Charter, but its roots go back to a late 19th-century concern to provide greater access to further and higher education for the poorer inhabitants of London.

International Foundation Year entry requirements
To study on the International Foundation Year you need to meet the following requirements:
- Academic: Good high school graduation grades or equivalent academic study.
- Country of residence/nationality: International students only may apply. Applications from HEU students are not accepted
- Age: Students must be 17 years of age or above to study at the International Study Centre.
