Entrepreneurship In Technology

Our Entrepreneurship in Technology program stands out among the traditional vocational entrepreneurship programs (Start-Up business, which focus rather on opening small businesses), or the more general Entrepreneurship programs offered across the country (which usually include one or two law courses).

Main functions

Technology entrepreneurs perform a variety of tasks: 

• Search for business project ideas
• Assess business project ideas (different stages and angles)
• Define processes
• Managing staff 
• Motivating staff and communicating a vision
• Establishing policies
• Seeking funding
• Set a budget and manage finances
• Sell your project and product (key partners, financiers, future employees, potential customers, etc.)
• Managing growth
• Assess results
• Managing risk
• Thinking about the next step

Network Management

Network technicians set up and manage networks in companies, organizations, or the public sector.  These networks can be of different sizes and nature (LAN, WAN, wireless, etc.)  

They oversee the operation of the network, ensure the security of its data, provide support to its users, optimize network connectivity and network performance.

Main functions

Computer network technicians perform some or all the following functions :

• test and install computer hardware, network software, operating system software and software applications;
• use master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to coordinate access to and use of computer networks;
• provide problem-solving services to network users;
• install, maintain and investigate the causes of failures, upgrade the hardware and software of web servers;
• implement traffic control and network security software and optimize server performance;
• perform routine start-ups and decommissioning and keep control records;
• perform data backup and restore operations;
• carry out safety and quality tests and controls;
• control and monitor the use of e-mail, web browsing and installed software;
• Perform shell scripting and other basic scriptwriting tasks.

• maintain, investigate the causes of outages and manage the use of corporate local area networks (ERNs), wide area networks (RE)mainframe networks and peripheral equipment, computer workstations and Internet connections;

Project management 

This is a big field; one can manage projects in the world of business, technology, in the field of construction and more. These projects could be local, regional or international. Object managers and their teams work in companies of various sizes, and with colleagues with different skills (IT, construction, etc.) The need for technicians in project management is very high, locally, and globally.

Main Functions

Project management technicians perform some or all the following duties:

full support to the project manager throughout the project life cycle;

• participate in the planning of the project;
• help track project schedule;
• participate in the management of project budget;
• participate in the quality control of the project;
• collaborate in the management of project communications;
• help identify and manage project risks;
• contribute to procurement management;
• participate in the final assessment of the project;
• participate in document management.
