Home Language International offers full-immersion courses in 20 languages in over 30 countries worldwide.

Stay in an experienced teacher’s home, have one-to-one language lessons, enjoy 3 meals a day with the family and then continue to use the language during the rest of your stay as you share the daily life of the family.

The home tuition advantage

The most common criticism of conventional language schools is that students speak their own language with friends when not in class. This weakness is eliminated with HLI’s home tuition method because you are the only student in the class. You therefore have the opportunity to speak the language before, during and after your lessons for a true full-immersion experience.

Our teachers

Have a university degree and a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience and/or a teaching qualification.

Each has been visited by one of our Local Organisers, their qualifications checked and their homes thoroughly inspected.

Private language lessons

You can choose from 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours per week of one-to-one lessons with your experienced teacher. The lessons are completely personalised for you so the teacher will focus on exactly what you need. We teach all levels from complete beginners to highly advanced and welcome students of all ages.

Who is it for?

Children & teenagers

As they live and study in the teacher’s homes, students cannot hide at the back of the class or miss lessons. Children of all ages can easily be supervised by the teacher according to their parents’ wishes.

Adults & professionals

There is no longer any need for adults and professionals to feel uncomfortable in a large class of differing ages and abilities. Some of our teachers have specialist knowledge of subjects such as business, medicine, law, marketing, engineering, banking etc. These teachers offer a Business & Professional Vocabulary course for those who request it in advance.

Immersions

Fast progress

Going on a homestay with one-to-one lessons is the fastest way to learn English or any other language we offer. You are the only student and you cannot speak any other language than the one you are learning, this is not only the natural way to learn a language but also the most efficient.

Full-immersion

On a full-immersion programme you’re learning not only during lessons but also by practising the language during meals, activities or during the daily family life. One big advantage of this language programme is that you live in the home of your teacher, so that learning doesn’t stop at the end of the lesson.

Personal

Another advantage of a one-to-one homestay is that you can choose your dates (from Sunday to Sunday) any time of the year and for the duration you want (minimum one week).
