Bury Language School

BLS English was founded in 1995 with the simple philosophy of “teaching with passion”. Since then, the school has grown sustainably, and the team here is committed to delivering learning opportunities of the highest quality in English language teaching.

British Council Accredited English Courses

At BLS they run a year round adult center and two seasonal junior centers. They accept students from the age of 10+ at various times of the year both as individuals and as groups. For dates of school holidays please scroll to the bottom of the page.

Perhaps you have a particular reason for studying? You may have an exam you would like to sit now or in the future? Let them know and they will do their best to help. They aim to support and advise you from start to finish.

Before you arrive or on your first day in school you will be sent an English language test which will help them to choose your class to make the most of every minute.

You will have daily homework and weekly progress tests so they can check your progress and help you achieve your goals.

They want you to be happy and the BLS Team will do everything they can to make this experience as positive as possible.

Accommodation

• CENTRE 1: JUNIOR GROUPS SPRINGFIELD HOUSE
• CENTRE 2: ADULTS SPRING LANE COTTAGE

Both centres are ideal for staying centrally in Bury St Edmunds and exploring the historic city.

At the residence, bedding is provided and students are able to do their own laundry using the free on-site machines. Students are requested to provide their own towels. There is a cleaning service included in the bedrooms weekly and communal areas twice weekly.

ADULT RESIDENTIAL ROOM FEES (SINGLE ROOMS)

• 1st September 2019 to 6th June 2020  £126 – £216 per week (based on room size)
• Summer period (7th June to 29th August 2020) £158 – £251 per week (based on room size)
• Second or third person occupancy £67 supplement per extra person per week
• Accommodation arrangement fees charged for all accommodation at £80 per room.

ADULT RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES

The kitchen is equipped with fridge/ freezer, microwave oven, electric oven, toaster, kettle, washing machine (clothes), dishwasher, tumble-dryer, iron & ironing board.  There is free wi-fi, a TV and DVD player for students to share. There is access to a BBQ in the communal gardens and areas to sit and socialise outside.
