Established in 1993, University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is the first international Australian university in the UAE, and is now part of a global brand that has campuses in Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

With over 27-year track record, the University offers internationally-recognised degrees that are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of UAE’s Ministry of Education, licensed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and quality assured by Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national regulator of the higher education sector in Australia.

UOWD’s curriculum and teaching practices reflect those of UOW Australia, which ranks among the top 1% of universities worldwide (QS World University Rankings 2022). The institution offers over 40 bachelor and master degrees spanning 10 industry sectors, such as engineering, business, ICT, healthcare, communications and media. As part of its continued pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, industry engagement and student experience, UOWD inaugurated its new purpose-built 200,000-square-foot campus at Dubai Knowledge Park in 2020. Featuring cutting-edge technologies, modern architecture, and a mix of traditional and innovative learning spaces, the campus provides an enriched experience to meet the demands of today’s student population, while supporting the teaching staff and community research projects.

•  Academic Facilities

The campus is equipped with the newest technology and infrastructure that supports blended learning. Through combining online educational materials and opportunities for interaction with traditional classroom-based methods, students from around the world are now able to interact and benefit from being inside the classroom or laboratory.

The campus includes dedicated learning and meeting rooms, small classrooms that can accommodate up to 40 students, large classrooms for up to 80 students, an exhibition space, a student lounge, an ultra-modern auditorium – all under one roof. The premises also house laboratories specialising in chemistry, thermodynamics, manufacturing, physics, robotics, media and communications, cybersecurity, networking, and gaming, to name a few

• Learning Resource Centre

The library has several spaces for collaborating and facilitating blended learning whilst still offering quiet and traditional services. The library’s rich academic resources are dedicated to assist UOWD students,alumni  and staff through its ever evolving and ever-growing collection of print and electronic resources, including electronic journals, links to subject-based resources, standards and statistical information.  It also aims to support University research alongside teaching and learning. Students can also borrow laptops for their studies and assignments.

• Medical and Health Care

Hospital, clinics, and pharmacies are in close proximity to the campus for all staff and  student's healthcare needs and medical emergencies.

• Laboratories

Our campus houses ultra-modern laboratories and workshops across branches of engineering and computer science such as geo-tech, thermal, networking, electrical, chemistry, physics, manufacturing, robotics, as well as gaming and media.Media and design students also have access to the latest broadcasting equipment including Black Magic cameras, Rode microphones and Yamaha digital audio mixers, ATEM live production switchers and more through our Media Lab.

• Prayer room

UOWD has separate prayer rooms for male and female located on the second floor giving students the opportunity to offer their prayers without leaving the campus.

• Dining

UOWD campus is conveniently located with a variety of food options nearby for our students. We have a cafeteria located on the ground floor in addition to the Starbucks and vending machines located on the first floor near the student lounge.Various restaurants, cafes and supermarkets are located within walking distance from the UOWD Campus.

The Language Centre is focused on increasing your professional communication skills (personal and corporate level) and your language proficiency. The programs are designed to help you achieve your language goals focusing on improving your listening, writing, reading and speaking skills.

Our centre is accredited by the National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) for its English language programs. NEAS, a reputable international accreditation body, has been providing quality assurance and accreditation in English language teaching for 22 years and the English Language Centre is proud to be a recognised accredited centre.
