Oregon State University (OSU) is an American University located in Corvallis, Oregon. It is considered the largest University in this state. It was founded in 1868 and has been a University since 1961. Structurally, it includes 11 colleges. In 2017, there were almost 31.5 thousand students.
The history of the University dates back to the appearance of Corvallis College in 1858. Since 1885 — Oregon agricultural College, and is fully controlled by the state. Since 1937 — Oregon state College, since 1961 — University.
In 1935, doctorates were awarded here for the first time. In the fall of 2008, the number of students exceeded 20,000. Over the years of its existence, more than 230 thousand people have graduated from the University.
