About us

Rauf Denktas University (RDU) was established in 2015 in the capital city of Nicosia - North Cyprus. Our University is accredited by the competent educational authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) which are The National Ministry of Education of Culture and The Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YODAK). RDU got its name from the founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Rauf Raif Denktas. His name is the main quality assurance of all the activities Programs at our university are in line with the American Credit System and also the European Credit and Transfer System (ECTS). RDU is an associate member of International Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), member of UK National Agency for Recognition of International Qualifications (UK-NARIC) and the Examination Center of Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES).

The location of our university gives students a great opportunity to get acquainted with the amazing history of the island, having plenty beautiful historical sites to visit both inside the city of Nicosia and in other cities of the country. North Cyprus is a small cozy heaven on Earth where many cultures merge into the one open-minded society with safe and secured environment.

RDU Cares About Its Students

Academic advising, student counselling and health services are available at all times and are easily accessible. Our International Office staff will meet you at the Ercan Airport of North Cyprus upon your arrival. We strongly recommend you to inform the International Office about your flight details at least 3 days before your departure. International Office organizes Orientation Program for the new students through which students are introduced to the rules and regulations of the University and the relevant laws of the country. Furthermore, you will be familiarized to close environment of the University as well as the main cities through a guided tour. With such activities you will have the opportunity to meet and develop good relationships with your classmates.

At RDU, high honor incentive scholarships are also available. There are limited opportunities for part time employment at the University premises. (e.g. library, international office, sport facilities etc.). Upon request, the International Office keeps the parents updated about the well-being, academic performance and attendance to lectures of their sons and daughters.
