The main task of the science and technology park is to develop diagnostic test systems, pharmacological preparations and biomedical cell products for rapid implementation in practical medicine. At this stage, the university conducts research in the field of neurology, oncology, pulmonology and rheumatology. In 2018, the university opened another direction — the Institute of Bionic Technologies and Engineering, the key task of which is the development of artificial organs and the creation of bionic prostheses, implants and tissues.

At this stage, the institute is working on the creation of artificial kidneys, hearts, nanomaterials for the restoration of bone and cartilage tissue, as well as an antibacterial coating for artificial organs and prostheses. Sechenov University relies on the development of new-generation medical technologies due to the close connection of science, education, practice and business.
