Welcome to Our World English Schools, providers of high quality summer courses since 1989. Over the last 34 years we have grown steadily, welcoming students from all over the world each summer. Each year new groups and individuals join us and many return year after year.

Our Courses

English plus Sport and Activity

General English classes

General English classes are designed to build confidence through communicating in English and intensive classroom teaching in small groups of up to 15 students.

Students are streamed by age and ability and are tested at the beginning of the course and placed in a class of the appropriate level. During the course, teachers monitor students’ progress and an academic report and a certificate are awarded at the end of the course.

Language Activities

In addition to General English classes, all students on the English plus Activity courses experience a wide range of activities designed to give them the opportunity to develop new skills, whilst using their spoken English in a specific context.

Students move on to a new activity each day, including: journalism, creative writing/story telling, vlogging, cookery, drama, and arts and crafts.

Classes last for 90 minutes and focus on the development of speaking and listening skills.

Our syllabus is designed to suit the needs of our students, providing them with practical language skills. The aim of the course is to improve English comprehension skills, along with grammar and pronunciation, as well as building confidence in communicating through English.

General English classes are comprised of three hours per day of teaching time, five days per week. All English teachers are suitably qualified and our courses are accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK.

Sports

A fantastic mixture of sports are offered to students each day. They can practice their skills or use the opportunity to learn new ones with our sports and activity leaders, who ensure that the highest levels of safety are maintained at all times.

Activities include: basketball ,badminton, table tennis, dance, volleyball, swimming, rounders, soccer, tennis, aerobics.

English plus Theatre & Dance

The English plus Theatre and Dance course offers boys and girls the opportunity to develop their theatrical skills in drama and dance, whilst also improving their English.

Theatre & Dance

The afternoon sessions are devoted to building skills in acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft culminating in a performance to other students and staff at the end of the programme.

One highlight of the course is a visit to a London Musical show in a West End Theatre.
The English plus Theatre and Dance course is taught by subject specialist teachers and is open to all ability levels including beginners.

General English

The Theatre and Dance students study General English in the morning sessions for 15 hours per week. Classes in small groups of up to 15 are organised with students from the other English courses to encourage a great mixture of students.

Global Young Leaders

The Global Young Leaders summer programme based at the prestigious Wycombe Abbey is a premier debating and critical thinking course which introduces some of the most influential thinkers to students from all over the world.

-15 hours of debating classes per week, incorporating critical thinking
