Oxford Summer Courses

See what student life at university is really like! During the summer school programme, you’ll stay in your own room in one of three University of Oxford college buildings.

The accommodation will give you a taste of what university living is like while offering modern amenities and easy access to the city’s cafes, shops, and culture.

St George’s Gate.

St George’s Gate is perched beside the Quaking Bridge, above the remains of a medieval wall. It’s adjacent to the historic Oxford Castle with an entrance courtyard and a lovely view of the Castle Mill Stream, part of the River Thames.

This residence is owned by St Peter’s College, one of the 38 colleges of Oxford University. St Peter’s was founded in 1928, with the aim of providing an Oxford education to around 40 bright students with limited funds.

Along with St Thomas’, St George’s Gate is one of the college’s annexe accommodations. It houses Oxford Scholastica students aged 14 to 18.

Our team

Our team has been running summer schools for many years, and we’re passionate about helping students meet their full potential. From our experienced leadership team to our world-class tutors, friendly staff, and engaging guest speakers, we’re here to provide a safe and supportive environment. 

BAC Accredited

We’ve been independently accredited by the British Accreditation Concil  (BAC), who have assessed our teaching quality, pastoral care and overall standards as a short course provider for Independent Further and Higher Education.

The live tutorials will usually take place from 1-3pm UK time each day. This is in order to best accommodate students from as many time zones as possible onto our courses, resulting in a truly global classroom.

During the summer, for some of our more popular courses we may have two groups to cater to students from the Eastern and Western hemispheres. If this is the case for your course, you'll be able to choose the time slot you prefer when booking. The content covered between each of the groups is the same.

How many hours is the course each day?

You will have two hours a day of live contact time with your tutor, and about two hours of independent study or group work to complete each day. In total, therefore, you should plan to spend about four hours a day on the course.

Students who enrol in our courses (other than our English Language courses) must be able to speak, understand and read English to an Intermediate/Upper Intermediate/Advanced English level.

Oxford Scholastica’s online courses aren’t free. We provide high-quality education tailored to each student's needs and interests. Our tutors are also subject experts from world-class institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge. Learn more about our Oxfrod online school fees and prices.
