OUR MISSION

At Manchester City Football School, our mission is to support the development of young football players, helping them to improve their skills and boost their confidence. We do this by providing authentic and creative football programmes, delivered in the inspiring grounds of the Etihad Campus, and taught using the winning philosophy and methodology of Manchester City.

ABOUT THE MANCHESTER CITY PLAY MODEL

Our Football Language, Football Language and Football Language programmes aim to build on four distinct phases in our player pathway programme, known as the Manchester City Play Model. Using this methodology, players are encouraged to further their love and education of the beautiful game through an age/ability appropriate curriculum. The four key areas of focus are:

• Play for Fun: Developed for players at the start of their football journey, sessions focus on the enjoyment of playing, gaining confidence in their own ability, and inspiring a real passion for the game.
• Play to Learn: As players become more experienced, the focus changes towards developing players’ understanding of their role in a team and learning how Manchester City’s first-team players compete at the highest level.
• Play to Progress: As individuals continue to grow in skill level and experience, players can then further develop their understanding of the game and how to make a difference in match situations.
• Play to Perform: Through practice and dedication, more experienced players are then able to showcase their talent and mature as football players, sharing their passion with friends, family, and teammates along the way.

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH BRITISH STUDY CENTRES

Our Football Language Programmes are run in collaboration with British Study Centres a global education provider established in 1930. Together, we strive to deliver outstanding and unforgettable learning experiences to young people of all backgrounds. In particular, we help participants on our Language programme to learn English through the universal language of football!

ABOUT THE ETIHAD CAMPUS

Manchester City Football School’s Language, Development and Performance programmes take place in the heart of the Etihad Campus at the City Football Academy - a state-of-the-art training facility. Shared by Manchester City’s First Team, Women’s team, and Academy teams alike, this 80-acre facility has been designed to help young players achieve their goals in a truly remarkable location.

ACADEMY PITCHES

The City Football Academy boasts an impressive 16 indoor and outdoor pitches. As a player on our programme, you’ll have full access to these inspiring grounds. The full-sized indoor field located in the middle of the Academy’s training facility, is a truly remarkable setting in which to train and play.

CONNELL COLLEGE

Located adjacent to the Academy is Connell College, a modern educational facility used by some of Manchester City’s Academy players. It is here that you can expect to catch up with your fellow players at break time and enjoy interactive workshops and off-pitch sessions. You’ll also be served a nutritional lunch here every day, to help keep your energy levels up.

OUR RESIDENCE

Stay in safe, modern, and comfortable accommodation at our residential football camp. Only a 20-minute drive from the City Football Academy, our residence is where you’ll eat, rest and relax following a long day of football fun.

ABOUT THE SALFORD RESIDENCE

The Salford Residence, known as Peel Park Quarter, is high-quality accommodation owned by the University of Salford. Located a short distance from the City Football Academy, we arrange for players on our summer programmes to be collected from and dropped off here daily by a private coach.

On our spring programmes, players can expect to stay at a local hotel, twin room. Details about this hotel will be provided once you’ve booked onto a programme.

BEDROOMS

During your stay at the Salford Residence, you’ll have a private bedroom with an en suite and double bed all to yourself - perfect for unwinding after an eventful day at the Academy. It also includes a study desk should you want to swot up on what you’ve learnt during the day, wi-fi access so you can easily connect with home, and plenty of wardrobe space to store your football boots!

COMMUNAL AREAS

Our communal areas at the Salford Residence are designed to help you enjoy some downtime. Whether you want to watch your favourite show on Sky TV, play games consoles, use the gym, or simply catch up with your programme mates, there are various shared spaces for you to do so in the evening. That said, our dedicated Activity Manager will typically arrange something fun like a movie night or BBQ. The residence even has a communal laundry room too. Don’t worry though, players aren’t expected to wash their football kits themselves - we’ll sort that all out for you!

DINING ROOM

Our clean and comfortable dining room is where you’ll eat breakfast and dinner and chat with all your new friends. For breakfast, you will be able to choose between a continental or hot option. In the evening, healthy, balanced dinners with plenty of vegetables will be served, followed by a delicious dessert. This is likely to be anything from a traditional pudding to yoghurt or fruit.
