The Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (CEPEO) is one of the most forward-thinking boards there is. The CEPEO serves 44 elementary and secondary schools spread between Trenton, Pembroke, Ottawa, Hawkesbury and Cornwall.
Together, they are committed to ensuring the inclusive well-being of learners, to opening up to the world in a dynamic way, to implementing innovative pedagogical approaches, to being visionary with regard to sustainable development and to build a vibrant identity.
The CEPEO and the schools are surrounded by complementary community partners to collectively achieve the best in Francophone education in the region.
At the provincial level, the CEPEO is part of a group of 3 other French-language public school boards, namely the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE), the Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de Ontario (CSPGNO) and the Conseil scolaire Viamonde.
Promote the development of each learner in a pluralistic environment to contribute to the sustainable development of our Francophone community
As teaching is given in French in CEPEO schools, the recommended level for international students whose mother tongue is not French is level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
For students in grades 7 to 10, an A-2 level is required.
During the admissions process, the CEPEO reserves the right to administer oral and written tests to assess candidates' skills in French.
Students will also have to take English lessons during their schooling. This implies that one must be able to read, write and communicate in this language.
