About

Shoreline Community College sits on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, in particular the Duwamish Tribe. Learn more about our Land Acknowledgement.

Founded in 1964, Shoreline Community College offers more than 100 rigorous academic and professional/technical degrees and certificates to meet the lifelong learning needs of its diverse students and communities. Dedicated faculty and staff are committed to the educational success of its nearly 10,000 students who hail from across the United States and over 50 countries.

Located 10 miles north of downtown Seattle, Shoreline’s campus is one of the most strikingly beautiful college campuses in Washington state. 

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is a five-member board that is appointed by the Governor of the State of Washington and confirmed by the Washington State Senate. The role of the Board is to oversee all operations of the College.

Vision and Mission

The Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees approves the vision and mission statements. Collectively, these are incorporated  into the Board’s Governance Manual.

The core themes focus directly on the College's educational mission. Our vision, mission and core themes help the College meet the needs and interests of our students, the many communities we serve and our partners.

The Strategic Plan springs from the College's vision, mission and core themes. It serves as an outline of how the College will achieve those stated goals. The plan adjusts annually to meet current and anticipated environmental variables, increasing the success rate of our students and the college.
