The PGA Institute prepares its graduates for a career in the business and management of golf as an industry. Owned by the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Australia, the PGA Institute now has an articulation agreement with Griffith University and Southern Cross University. These provide the diversity for students to choose different career pathways and offer opportunities for elite athletes, coaches and administrators in the golf industry and related business sectors.
Our training programs are highly regarded within the industry, and are increasingly recognised as the best in the business. We regularly liaise with golf industry experts to ensure that our curriculum and golf training provides the skills and learning outcomes that make our graduates employable. PGA Institute training facilitates a number of golf careers including opening doors to the PGA Member Pathway Program, Tour School, University, or Industry positions.

The Association’s origins date back to 1911, when a group of ex-patriot Scottish golf professionals formed a national organisation which would promote the game of golf and help elevate the vocation of the golf professional. Since 1911, The PGA of Australia has established new standards of excellence by expanding educational opportunities, programs and services for its members. At the same time, the Association stands firm and continues to flourish on the principles that were set down by its founders.
In December 2008 an historical landmark on the Australian Golf Landscape was realised when the PGA of Australia and the PGA Tour of Australasia amalgamated. The new organisation was called the “Professional Golfers Association of Australia Limited”. The PGA Tour of Australasia brand name continues to be used for the elite Australasian Tour.
